The All-Stars were born out of the longtime friendship and musical collaboration of local Long Island area musicians Joe Leonard, Will Marin and Brian Walsh. Bonded and influenced by their collective affection for artists like the Eagles, Jackson Browne, Clapton, and The Stones, the boys, along with critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Bill Maier and drummer Chris Jordan set out to create their own unique sound. By the time the band had morphed into Liquid Children in 1995, they had garnered a large area following, and their self-titled debut album was getting a fair amount of local radio airplay. Ten years and several musical iterations later, Leonard, Marin & Walsh return to their musical roots, presenting their favorite songs in an “in-the-round” format. Percussionists Joe Pauley (Soul Shack, Playeros), and Benny Arocho (The Kelly Project, The Freams) of Huntington expand the lineup, adding their own unique blend of traditional, latino and world style rhythms to the ensemble. Finally, #64 in your program and #1 in your heart, Jen Sweeny rounds out the sextet. Jenn's arrival on the CFA scene can be likened to that of a musical atomic bomb exploding with harmonious vocal goodness, spreading radioactive delight amongst all who are lucky enough to experience the orgasmic audio experience that is the CFA. We envy them. So where’s the fire? Check out the Campfire All-Stars at a venue near you. ….and don’t forget the marshmallows. |
